GATES BUSINESS TRAVEL ANNOUNCES AFFILIATION WITH TZELL TRAVEL GROUP

Gates Travel, South Cumbria’s leading independent travel agency, has affiliated its Business Travel unit with international travel company, Tzell Travel, the 4th largest travel management group in North America.  Gates Business Travel becomes the first travel agency member of the Tzell Travel Group in the UK.

Gates Travel celebrated its 75th anniversary last year and is the leading independent travel agency in the South Lakes area of Cumbria. The company offers tailor made leisure travel and has a well established business travel division with over 200 account customers.  The affiliation will allow Gates Travel to develop and expand its business travel offering with access to Tzell’s technology and negotiated fares.

Nick Chaloner, Managing Director at Gates Travel commented: “At a time when our business clients are looking to us to find them cost effective travel management solutions, our affiliation with Tzell UK will bring them huge benefits.  We can now offer even greater cost savings as well as being able to utilise some of the best technology in the industry.”

US based Tzell Travel Group launched Tzell UK with its head office in London in February 2008 with the intention of replicating the company’s business model in the US by affiliating with independent travel agencies.

Barry Whittaker, Managing Director, Tzell UK said: “Our affiliation with Gates Business Travel is in line with the plans to expand our business in the UK through linking with independent travel agencies.  The economic climate is ripe for expanding in this way as agencies are looking to stay ahead in what is now an extremely competitive market.  Agents can make use of what a large group like Tzell can offer such as the benefits of our buying power.”

Tzell UK specialises in medical repatriation for insurance companies, travel management for several corporations including financial institutions and arranging travel and VIP concierge services for film, TV, music and fashion industries.
